Home Sick Home....?????????

Weekends....
My most busiest day(s)... = (
out & about & managing all my home affairs...

U guys relaxing at Home... Bestnyer

So I'm gonna share/write about...

"Home Sick".....

Yes dear,
Our homes have a laundry list
of ways to multiply bacteria and toxins.....

OMG.....

Think of home and an expansive list of homilies come to mind about it
being our castle,
where our heart is....etc.

But truth to tell it also has a dark underbelly;
more than half of food borne illnesses and 65 percent of colds are contracted
 in our very own homes.

How so?

Here's a rundown of a few suspects that
help fuel this scenario....

AIR SUPPLY

Have you had a recurrent sore throat, runny nose or watery, itchy eyes?
Does your head hurt?
Feeling tired and irritable?
People usually attribute these
symptoms to a cold or flu...,
but experts in air quality caution that in a significant number of cases, these symptoms are due to elevated concentrations of indoor air pollutant caused by poor ventilation.

We keep breathing in the same air over and over - that includes every chemical we use indoors that emits vapours - some of which are toxic.

Radon - an odourless, colorless gas found in every type of house is the second leading cause of lung cancer behind smoking in many countries.

Granite countertops - not all thankfully, only about 5-10percent of granite on the market includes uranium that can emit radon gas.

Ventilation ducts for our air conditioners and air filters are also a happy breeding ground for mould spores.

FISHY TALE

People love aquariums in their houses. Me too but fish tanks contain potentially harmful bacteria if the water in the tank is not cleaned regulary.
Dead fish left in a murky fish tank can decay and also lead to hygiene and breathing issues for humans and even skin irritation.
Additionally, the small bubbles that rise to the surface of the tank from the air filter spread aerosal droplets into the air that may contain biological organisms, such as bacteria, viruses or fungi.

CAN'T TOUCH THIS...

Keyboards are loaded with germs....
more so than an average public toilet bowl that contains 41 germs per square inch versus the average personal keyboard that hosts some 21,000 germs per square inci....

"Toilet bowls get cleaned"
but
"Keyboards rarely do"

So can you just imagine the amount there!!!!!!

TRAVEL BUG....

You may have been bitten by travel bug in more ways than one since your last vacation...
- you may have brought home
 some bedbugs too...

How So?

Via your suitcase!!

These insects, which hide in the crevices of mattresses and bedding,
 are showing up everywhere.

From hostels to the swankiest hotels
- and they often find their way into people's luggage and transport themselves into unsuspecting homes.
Bedbugs cause hepatitis B and other disease and they're becoming an increasing health problem.....

Scary kan....

We should Care for Life....

We have to prevent all the above from happening

so that our life will be...

Bitter Sweet Truth

BITTER SWEET TRUTH

HONEY....
has a long medical history.

But did you know that paediatricians strongly caution against feeding it to children
under one year old?

"It has been shown very clearly that honey can give infants botulism, a paralytic disorder in which the infant must be given anti-toxins and often be placed on a respirator in an intensive care unit", says Jatinder Bhatia, MD, a Georgia Neonatologist.

Why?

Because infants do not have a developed immune system to defend against infection, so the spores of the botulism bacteria that are found in dust and soil that may make their way into honey are potentially lethal for a child...

The Dangerous Dengue Bite....

My life agak huru hara sedikit lately...
Antara sebab2 nyer adalah
'Demam Denggi'......

Biasa dengar, baca,Tengok dlm tv, melawat friends & family yg kena sebelum ini..
This time rezeki my BigBoss sendiri yg kena....
Bila BigBoss kena memanglah Mum teruk jugalah terkena Impak dari Itu...

Ok, Dengue is a major problem in many tropical & sub-tropical regions of the world, and Malaysia is not spared from having to deal with the disease which occurs predominantly in urban and semi urban areas of the country...

Dengue continues to claim lives despite the rapid development of the country.
A vector-borne disease transmited to humans through the bite of the female Aedes mosquito, dengue continues to be prevalent.

After a person is infected with the virus, the body will undergo different phases.

For the first three days, the person will experience the fever and all other symptoms of the disease including headache, joint & muscle aches, diarrhoea and feeling lethargic...
Tastebud pun hilang...semua rasa pahit!

After that, comes the critical phase, from the 4th to the 5th day...during this time, the capillary permeability increases causing the fluid and protein from the blood to accumulate in the body cavities which could lead to different problems including a build up of fluid between the layers of tissue that line the lungs and chest cavity and accumulation of fluid in the abdominal area.

If the patient do not recover from this stage, this is when the dengue fever will turn into dengue haemorrhagic fever.....the patient will become more lethargic, the heart rate increases and the blood pressure drops. Patient with dengue haemorrhagic fever will have to be treated in the ICU, whereas dengue patient are treated in the normal wards.

There is no treatment for both, so any action taken will be to treat the different symptoms and monitor hydration status, platelet count, even kidney condition. Fluids will also be given judiciously to replace loss. My Bigboss setiap hari mesti masuk 6 botol air, vitamin, makan ubat demam, makan ubat batuk...ambil darah dua kali sehari...pagi dan petang...

Memang nampak seksa sangat2... Ada masa menggiggil2...
....bila kita rasa punyerlah panas badan dia tapi bila tanya dia rasa sangat2 sejuk....

Ada orang kata minum sup ketam nipah@ ketam batu pun sangat membantu & berkesan...tapi my bigboss awal2 dah warning...
It's a NO NO NO for him... U guys boleh... Maka minumlah sekerap yg boleh...just the sup..
...isi jgn makan..

Actually, most people are aware of the danger and ways to prevent dengue, but not many are willing to take time to get involved in the activities... Community participation is vital in the war against dengue...

So, esok & lusa weekend kan..elok sangat lah sejam dua buat aktiviti membersihkan kawasan di luar serta di dlm rumah kita masing2....
Kadangkala ada bekas ataupun tempat2 yg berkemungkinan besar ada takungan air - tempat nyamuk membiak.... yg mungkin selama in kita terlepas pandang...

Mencegah adalah lagi baik dari merawat...

Ok guys....
